Low cost Chinese fishing reels and other equipment

Hope you have a very good anti virus/maleware software for your steam engines. Windows are mean't for looking out of. ;)
Oh yes. Qualified IT tech so I'm switched on when it comes to polishing WIndows & keeping things locked down! Never saw a single Ad over on the 'other side' !! ???

A thing I think about now and again is the manufacturer of the top rods, whilst they are built over here, where is the Carbon cloth sourced ? Apparently there are only a small number of carbon manufacturers, and if the most competitively priced carbon cloth comes from the far East it would make sense to purchase it, even through a middle man that may be based in Europe/USA, now if the top rods used this carbon, and given that they also use components like rings, shrinktube etc already from the far East would this make them far Eastern rods ?
I know some will say it's an inferior Carbon (which I don't think is the case as you just purchase the standard of Carbon you require, Toray etc) Just a thought !!
@bacon is the Carbon Fibre Kiddy his pants are made from it so can spring down the beach like a whippet!
Think was Malaysia or Korea was the Carbon Fibre/Kevlar Epicentre while back When i was dabling in car building/modding! And F1 etc had many hands on the tables/tunnels over there.

but it's like Mono etc there are only a few places making it but everyone else has made to there spec or ways to con Noddy Carp Campers!
And the last lot i looked at coming from China was so rough was like Stevie Wonders Greatest hits Album in brail!
Think they Patted it out with a spoon and fork as so uneven!

But they do make some decent stuff much is for home Market(Military ask the Uyghurs)

Hope you do for your Apple also or can be Cooked! as Apple gets hacked and virused just they keep it out of Media!
Only one they can't deal with is Linux as you have to allow it to update not done behind your back like apple does
And if have an issue with a virus type thing with Linux you just remove it simple.

I am not about to deny anybody the right to buy what they want. I take it you must spend one hell of a time hunting for the products you need that are not made in China?
I do not need to search my conscience in any way to buy anything made in China, why would I ? To buy something made in Germany though? Strangely enough there I do have to think about it.
Everyone has the option to buy whatever they want/need. It does help to do some investigation regarding suitability, quality and fit for purpose, costs etc etc. It is their money so why knock it?

Microshite do software! but both same Shite as Apple are no better than MS by far.
Which is more stable? which one do you need anti virus/maleware protection etc? You pay your money and take your choice. I thought ms was an illness

Incorrect Tour, our apple products do not automatically update software without our permission. We choose whether/when if we want to update. I had Microsoft products for years, eventually had enough so bit the bullet and now brought/use apple products. Linux is good but not a lot of other stuff is compatible with it - shame.

Everyone has their own opinion and ideas about their purchases according to their needs....who are we to say they are wrong?
Live and let live i say!?

I used to deal with a guy that went to China on a regular basis to buy assorted things that he then imported back to the UK. After I was chatting to him one day about fishing, he said that if I gave him a sample of anything then he would take it to China and get a price. As long as you bought enough of them they could make anything, much cheaper than UK prices! When I asked him about patents that were on certain items he said the Chinese didn't care about anything like that and would find a way around them.

I declined his offer but obviously lots of people didn't judging by the amount of copies of almost everything for sale.

Very clever the Chinese, they’ll make it to whatever spec you want, hence why we get everything from cheap knock offs to decent kit.

Of course, how many Western companies bother to specify top notch materials and stay on top of the QC?
All they see is the bottom line and how much money they’re making on the mark up.

Guys I just had to share this little head shaker. I have just come out of the kitchen and picking up a box of matches the wife bought when out shopping, we burn wood matches are a must ? , they are made in china !!! Now the reason I looked to see where the were made was that they are what I would call a hang fire match... you strike the F'ers and about a second latter the ignite  actually total shite ! But for godsakes matches transported half way around the world that has to be wrong they only cost 50 cents for three boxes!

As they saying goes You pays your money and takes your choice.

The price of timber now is mad!
I personally know a fencing contractor is importing posts from Latvia and some uk and eu harvesting companies cutting timber purely for the Chinese market.
You couldn’t make it up.

A Chinese copy of something, but no idea what, weird!

Pointless contraption, ice fishing when I went either used a 2ft rod and a coffee grinder (fixed spool) reel. The Inuits drilled 2 holes through the ice about 50yds apart and long lined for catching fish.
