Advice New Rods Advice Needed

Been having some fun with colour scheme for potential custome build Fireblade GT. Not going to be everyone's cup of tea but I'm really liking this colour
Quite a few custom rod builders not too far from you so could buy blank and do your thingšŸ‘

Also got the Comp match GT's, Comp Naga's, Xenon powers (3piece, for the arkward spots for casting)AFAW match pro's, tourney matche's, Sonik gravity X5's, Abu Suverans (both the 4/8 and 4/6oz models) and many more rods that I can't think of at the mo (all pairs) Been down the British rod route many times with Century rods (about 10 different models) and Zipplex (about 6 different models, never been impressed with UK rods, especially Zipplex, although Century were ok but nothing special, reason I don't use british rods now is lack of transparency, all the rods are at least 50% Eastern materials (reelseats, guides etc, but what they don't tell you is the spec of Carbon used and where it comes from (which to me would be a huge selling point) feel that they have something to hide. The other side is the foreign companies are more than happy to tell you what grade of materials used and where there sourced (Tronix - Mitsubushi, very reputable company) and given the state of British Manufacturing ( ie armed forces stuff, rail network etc ) it just don't work, think we need to accept the UK is a third world nation !
How does a three piece rod help when casting is awkward? surely 13ft is 13ft..... am I missing something?

Just to update big beach returned to pal šŸ˜‚, so necessity been mother of invention decided to create funkenstein for the cliffs and braid using both alvey and fixed spool using my old tip tornado Grand Prix and section of boat rod to include reel seat. Tools Stanley knife, tape measure, bagging tape and electrical , and nail varnish, existing rings initially usedšŸ¤ž
Boat rod section including reel seat wammed upt rear of gp x6ā€ or so where it will remain giving distance of 9ā€ from base butt cap to centre of reel seat and 19ā€ to centre original seat.
Removed guide from butt section and placed on tip section giving 190cm ish from original seat and 230 ish from bottom seat, removed other rings and jiggled now five guides plus tip.
Taped poledark/den rip, casting trigger very kindly donated by Mike hemming ( thanks again Mike) above bottom reel seat for Alvey and franky was born.
Lazy low kind of fishing pendulum with 7 ounce lead and braid no ring/ guide wraps in all combinations but not used in anger yet and distance ok for da cliff, Alvey pain in the butt at times, tee hee šŸ¤”šŸ‘šŸ˜€

cant believe its nearly two years :(

Popped in to pick some rods up.... two cups of tea later :)
You know šŸ˜„
Just nice to have been able to call him a friend.
A true unsung angling legend.
Had some great nights codding with Den, Jimbo and Freddie.šŸ‘

I am older than you think..... unfortunately..... we also had the benefit of a older mate with a Bedford van and we were there for some of those nights :-)
So we shared some war stories.
It was relevant because the weekend before Brad and I had had the best Cod session on Chesil with a big bag out inc a couple of doubles.
He loved the pics :-)

Had one kindly donated by Mike hemming on here ( thanks again Mike) and get on with it well and suits an Alvey and braid keeping fingers out of harms way and without would bin the Alvey I thinkšŸ¤”
So if anyone out there wants to sell one then yes please.šŸ‘

Never met Den in person but I know he was a committed tackle tinkerer like myself! Is no one making his casting release anymore?
Not that I am aware of.
I think Den made them himself and never subbed the job out.
I can ask Jimbo, he would know.

Breakaway make a simpler plastic one which works ok
Yes the Breakaway casting cannon, I just got 2 for my rods. They're a good idea and work well if you can mount them directly above your spool. Unfortunately they sit too far forward on my rods so the line spools off šŸ˜•

Not the casting cannon, the Breakaway thumb button. A different thing mounted above the blank
