Advice Regular Tackle Maintenance

Rigs, knife & bait board normally get what's left of hot water in flask poured over it then put on bucket. This then gets put in shed to dry.
Rods & reels get a wash down in the shower when I get back. Left to dry then a wipe over with a cloth. Reels get a wipe with a cloth with 3 in 1 on it

Rigs and knife, scissors, disgorger, bait needles etc in washing up bowl then reels rinsed under tap till bowl is near full. Reels wiped dry with microfibre cloth which is then used to dry stuff in bowl then wipe down the rods. Reels get a partial strip clean grease and oil whenever I feel they need it. I'm also a fifty plus years of biking and love acf50 so the fathoms will get a wipe over with it both inside and out.

So a quick hose down will be good enough to prevent rusting of rod rings etc?
no.... its inevitable that over time you will get cracks under the rings and water will creep under.
They are just tools, rinse them off sure, dry them sure..... but they are just tools.
Reels, I look after my reels as much as I abuse my rods.
But I like doing it and have got competent at it so it only takes a few minutes.
But they are still just tools......
