Zulcron 435 lite

I dont like the Chinese.
They ignore human rights and are responsible for a massive amount of greenhouse gas emissions.
That simply means that I choose to buy the UK manufactured or European manufactured rod and give my money to someone who does not treat the rest of humanity like a turd.
I've been saying for years the greed of many companies moving manufacture to china has made china the richest most powerful country and they have invested heavily in there armed forces and are still communist.

And thats it.... give your money to the lads in Newcastle, Italy or South Korea.
Why give it to people whose government uses it to control their own people and who constantly threaten others.
Interesting to watch shakey old Biden put massive tariffs on ev cars and solar panels from China the other day.
Hes protecting his own..... theres a lesson to be learned there.

End of day comes down to £££ and personal choice with moral compass been influenced for some which is great.
If for example you buy a zulcron rod you put money into both British and Chinese pockets and have a very good product
Designed to suit uk fishing by an Englishman using Chinese technology for us to use at a fair price🤷🏽‍♂️
Have no problem drinking Chinese tea or using other stuff if well made but probably have morals of alley cat as mr Biden put it recently😂🇬🇧 edit, do not as yet have a zulcron rod but not against buying one for any reason I know of as yet, nearly forgot to mention Emma raducano is soo hot and it’s a big yes from me 🤪
However if certain rods spigots wear like other brands did prematurely I will allow Emma to punish me severely by pleasuring her as punishment.

Yet all the uk manufacturers buy the carbon cloth from china

A company based in Hong Kong owns 75% of Northumbrian water who in turn own/ incorporate other water companies and has done for some time, china also make some excellent thermal imaging scopes etc, etc.
People need to wake- up and smell the coffee even if not palatable🤷🏽‍♂️

The best carbons are from Japanese companies like Toray/Mitsubushi but are often produced by their S.Korean subsidiaries.
Agreed but it's not all about the carbon, the resin is just as important. Prepeg carbon varies in price hugely depending on the carbon and the resin quality and quantity in it. There is also no such thing as best as such as it's what's best for the application/use etc. many rods use different carbon in different areas of the blank to achieve the actions the manufacturer wants and many have glass blended into the entire rod not just the tip. Blank manufacturer's like century will have a database of knowledge on materials and handle tapers etc .

And now Century have TC's secret blends as well...;)

If zziplex are to progress in rod making then best they start producing other models and use new carbons but this is not going to happen because Terry is no longer with us , it’s century who run the show now , they not going to make a new model and call it zziplex it’ll be called century . The carbons zziplex use are old school , are century going to change these and bring them up to modem carbons , I doubt it, once they do that it’ll no longer be a zziplex it’ll be a century with century name on it , zziplex is re restricted to its name any future developments will be down to cenurty

They are waiting to see how the M4's and Profiles are received before deciding on any more models I believe Mike, being as those were Terry's best selling rods back in the day.. ;)

How long do they exspect to keep us waiting , things change new carbons ect etc , Terry is no longer with us to produce such rods . It’s century who now hold the futour

Only Century know if they will bring any more of the zziplex range to market Mike, so we will have to wait and see. (y)

Change the materials and you change the rod. It's not all about 'carbon' and mandrel as the flag pattern, lay-up and curing processes are also crucial. It's a careful combination of all the factors. If it ain't broke then what needs fixing?

3M are I believe a UK research company who produce resins in many global locations along with many products and both toray and mitsubishi use their resins in some of their products. Hexcel is also the world leader in carbon fibre research and manufacturing and they are an American company. Like I said in previous post best carbon fibre is relative to the application requirements, the lightest most rigid high structure strength may e good for parts of a formula one car or aerospace application but useless for a fishing rod

Seem to recall much carry on regarding “boron” carbon rods that century made and rumours the early raptors where made from some fancy carbon or other (back then) of which I have one.🤷🏽‍♂️
Can only say extremely light and very stiff but probably an antique by modern standards, never could bend it but nice to fish with for skull dragging😂
