There is that to it ?Seems to be way more productive in the dark though. ?
they look quite tidy.I've been using these off eBay I only clip the holder on when I need it I did leave the holder on but lost one with a hamfisted cast with wet hands and nearly chucked the whole lot in the drink so a lost clip was a result ?View attachment 20546View attachment 20547
Aye they are quite small the clip is tight on the tip excellent bright light and the batteries last for ages I can't fault themthey look quite tidy.
No I haven't but probabaly not that practical either.Have you thought about using bite alarms..?
And are you just taping them on J?i started to use the sidewinder ones , i fine them good ,even if i not looking at them i can see the light move
I was jesting. No I haven't but probabaly not that practical either.
I am sure there may well be times when with a bit of thought they could be used.I was jesting.
I quite like sitting in the dark though, probabaly the sea trout fisher in me, only using a torch when needed.Nothing worse than some 'erbert 400 yds away with a headtorch with the power of a million candles looking at his rod tip and straight at you at the same time.
I like to think what else I'm lighting up.
Most of the time I prefer to fish in darkness and all of my rods have "Mightybright" tape on the tips.
Headtorch on low power when I'm tip watching and full when reeling in. Some places are too dark to fish withouit though.
Not all fish are spooked by light though.
A couple of nights ago I looked over the edge of the sea wall to see a bass in about a foot of water two feet from the waterline.
I dropped a bait right in front of it while shining my light on it. It sucked it in almost immediately . May have been a dumb fish buts it's been removed from the gene pool.
I would agree, shortsighted and wear varifocals which are a pita. I think it is more the inappropriate use of powerful torches that rips folks knitting. With having bad eye sight i do like a very bright head torch .We would all like the eyes of a eagle . Falling over off some remote rock or cliff mark in the dead of night believe me is no fun.
I thinm the trouble is that you can forget how bright they are until you turn to talk to your mate along the rocks from you and all you hear is "jesus!".????Very true Ianpick,& Thrasher , people using powerful torches on the beach ,are inconsiderate shining the light here there & every where, there is no need for it in my opinion
I've watched a fair old amount of bass fishing films from the States where they use green lights to attract them in.Not all fish are spooked by light though.

Yes, I hate it. If you need it for difficult terrain or landing a good fish, absolutely, use it.I would agree, shortsighted and wear varifocals which are a pita. I think it is more the inappropriate use of powerful torches that rips folks knitting.
This is my biggest gripe. It’s not just that people have bright lights but some are as twitchy as feck.Very true Ianpick,& Thrasher , people using powerful torches on the beach ,are inconsiderate shining the light here there & every where, there is no need for it in my opinion
