Thanks @wingnut55 I did have a look at the Daiwa Tournament Pros that you purchased recently but it says they're rung for multi but I'm on FS are there any rods in their range of similar quality that you could recommend for FS?Have a look at the Daiwa range of rods, excellent bang for buck, and they have been around longer than most.
Ian.
You can use mangles on multi rung rods, but not the other way round. Daiwa do the Tournament HT Surf's, rung for mangles, but they are three piece rods. Or some makers do Hybrid rods, rung for both Multi and Mangle which the Fireblade is.Thanks @wingnut55 I did have a look at the Daiwa Tournament Pros that you purchased recently but it says they're rung for multi but I'm on FS are there any rods in their range of similar quality that you could recommend for FS?
That's interesting about using FS on multi rung rods, I was not aware of that was a thing I definitely want to go the 2 piece route otherwise that Daiwa Tournament HT looks a great bit of kit. I am sure the fish don't care what rod/reel you use. Also if anyone has any alternative suggestions to the Blackouts, I'm looking for a 2 piece with some back bone, preferably with a glass tip for clean to mixed ground that can handle rays and hounds but also not be a broom stick when fishing for flatties, whiting and doggies. Im after something that has room to grow with me as I hopefully improve at casting etc. In an ideal world I want to buy once and keep them for a good few years. Recommendations would be great cheers
Oh yes you can - oh no you can't - dam it's not Christmas panto time yetYou can use mangles on multi rung rods, but not the other way round. You may need a mortgage or large overdraft to buy them. Or blow your hard earned savings.Out of curiosity does anyone have experience with Century Graphex Super Match rods? Also what would be a reasonable offer on a secondhand pair in mint condition?
You're probably right lol I've seen a set for sale but don't want to insult the guy by offering half what they're worth. You may need a mortgage or large overdraft to buy them. Or blow your hard earned savings.

Start by using a Henry Cole - what are you thinking cost wise, then reduce from there. You're probably right lol I've seen a set for sale but don't want to insult the guy by offering half what they're worth.
