I love any tackle shop. It would be nice to bottle the smell of one and release it in the man cave.
We have two good ones in Herne Bay: Ron Edwards, in Sea Street, and Bay Angling and Aquatics.?

Checked out Trago Mills Liskeard (Glynn Valley) this eve: picked up a few assorted hooks, swivels, "sand-eel" lures & the like. I didn't have enough shopping-time to slowly check thro' and note prices for comparisons.
I would advise, though, that they have a "fair" variety of rods ranging from substantial conti's all the way thro' to (a few) fly rods** - I noted Penn, Abu, Shakespeare, Fladen (there might have been other brands).
Reel offerings pretty much all fixed reels with good range of sizes (but I didn't register the range of reel brands): there were just a few trad' (un-braked) multipliers. Fixed reel price range from <£20 to considerably more £s. I twiddled with a few cheaper <£20 fixed reels just to "see", with the recent Lidl offerings in mind, and they felt/looked rather good actually (for what a quick in-store fiddle might be worth)! Accessories (bags, boxes, nets, rod supports etc etc) didn't strike me as being bargain Trago prices, but they had options in most categories. Also noted a range of rod cases beyond the flimsy "bags" manufacturers throw-in.
I'm not going to suggest a special trip, but, if one is passing a Trago, might be worth a stop. (On the last Thursday of each month all Trago stores offer a 10% Trago discount for OAPs.)
Oh, and they do chest-high waders for (was it) £75 or £80 ?. Store assistant advised that a previous cheaper (£50) version has not been supplied in recent times. However, the upper material on the in-store waders did feel quite robust, but I didn't purchase on this Trago visit (and I've also now forgotten the brand !)
** I just didn't have shopping time to dwell on their fly'ing range, but, then, I have my little Lidl fly-rod to muck-about/practice with for now :)

Was in Carnon Downs Garden Centre today (nr Truro towards Falmouth): I find they now have a "sports" section inc' angling. Obviously I had a look around. Good range of rig components and lures I would say - freshwater and saltwater. A fair range of rods and reels, inc' several braked multi's (all good brands).
I'm thinking someone there likes very long spinner/lure rods (!!): it was a struggle to resist checking their price tags ! I did fondle a few braked multi's though, but current (depleted) stock was all just a bit beyond my budget in the event.
If in the Truro/Fal' area and needing any sort of gear, could well be worth a visit.
