PR Knot

Does anybody use the PR knot for joining braid to mono leader or braid to braid leader ?

Never heard of it TBH, but the same knot can have many names, especially in other countries.
I use the braid/mono knot.

The PR knot is considered the strongest(and slimmest) braid to mono knot of all and is known as PR knot all over the world.. in fact a PR bobbin is used to make it and shimano make a PR bobbin (waaay over priced).

In South Africa the PR knot is even used for thin to thick braid leader fir surf casting

Sounds like an FG knot to me .I use an FG knot to connect different breaking strains of mono to Braid , never had a problem at all .

Both do the same job but the FG is easier to tie and does not need anything but fingers to tie it .

Yes very similar to FG.. slightly stronger but the ease of tying the FG Trumps that difference by a tariff

I can actually tie the PR just as fast as an FG apart from the actual wrapping the braid on the bobbin.. spinning it is faster than hand winding an FG.. but is the fluffing with bobbin in begining that slows it

Here it shows how to do it SA style braid to braid.. which most in the world still don't realize can be done...(can also use FG braid to braid too)
