New headlamp arrived

I think i might just get (if they still available) one again, ;);) just for the fun of it:LOL::LOL:
Maybe you rod will get launched then :ROFLMAO:

Before I take the plunge did you get charged extra by customs.
No, and no evidence the parcel was opened.
It said VAT added at point of sale, whether that makes a difference?
Not saying you’d never get charged - I don’t really understand these things, but certainly there was none for me.

This is the link. Select the 650 lumen option and you’ll see it comes up at £63.

Yep seen that from the Military 1st seller. He does have the 650 lumens but more expensive. Thanks for that link.Think that's the one I clicked on.(y)
Yes, originally I looked at sales outlets in this country but there was a big price difference.
Yes as you say, he had it too, but just select the one that comes up at £63 and says Amazon US.

It took about five days to arrive.

The lights also come with four Duracell but I’ve found they perform a lot better with decent rechargeables at 2000mah or better.
I also found with the last one that if you do buy disposables, the cheapy batteries lasted a similar amount of time to the expensive ones.

Nice one. There’s better/brighter/more expensive lights out there but this one always did everything I needed, was well made and lasted a long time.
And I like the fact you can just use AA rather than having to buy specialist batteries or charge through a usb.

Quite an underrated brand imo.

Years back every one had some sort of pressure lamp, it seemed more cosy with the beach lit up than lights we have now, progress, make your mind up on that one
That reminds me, to go with the bells he would have had a big "tilley lap" in the dark :LOL:

I detested the things! And had Tilley, then Coleman, which at the time were my only light source for every mark, apart from a torch if the lamp blew up, which wasn’t unknown. Not literally, but had a few globes shatter when a wave came over.
Climbing out to rock marks carrying the damn things was never fun.

Then it was Petzls and carrying a huge 6v battery on your belt. An improvement but not great imo. Plus bulbs tended to blow randomly and always had to carry spares.

When I got my previous Apex almost 20 years ago, my god, what a revelation.
Walk anywhere, the light went where I looked, it was brighter, lighter and I never had to worry about it failing. Just put it on my head and forget about it.

Someone gave me a Tiga for nothing after I got the LED light and I tried it out, thinking I might use it. What a horrible cumbersome thing in comparison.
It’s still sat in the shed, although I doubt the battery is any good now.
