Flounder Tactics... That Time of Year Again

I thought the demise of the flounders was a local thing due to many large fishing competion obviously there's something more going on.
Plenty here. Imo anglers aren’t too helpful by either taking too many or ripping hooks out (and I’ve seen it a lot, no one seems to want to lose a hook 🙄) but to date there still seems to be quite a few.

By that I meant anglers here specifically, flounder fishing is a bit like our mackerel season elsewhere, lots of danglers who do bother the rest of the year, that sort of thing
 
Love catching flounders, in fact all flatfish.

Maddies and ragworm are the go to baits here. Unfortunately maddies are getting harder to find in decent sizes and numbers. The match anglers realised they were a good summer bait and now the beds don’t get a rest.
