Boss in the side plate came loose after approx 15 hours of use. It’s off to Daiwa in Scotland for repair on Thursday. Shame, as otherwise a nice reel.

I’ve already chatted with Russ. Daiwa told me the part was improved some time ago. Maybe they forgot to do mine.

Iv got a pair of them lovely reels but dont seem to use them much ,realy smooth and controllable, fantastic distance reels

Today it will arrive at Daiwa in Scotland, let’s see what they do with it. Other than the boss issue, I really like the reel. Though it does feel fragile compared to my original 525s.

Chalk and cheese, both reels designed for different purposes, one is rough ground other for smooth distance work
