Would you or have you bought anything on Aliexpress?

£10.35 39%OFF | 3500W Ultralight Portable Camping Stove with Storage Case for Outdoor Backpacking Hiking Camping Equipment Wood Stove Gas Burner
Here's an example...top one sold in Blacks....22 quid....bottom one Ali....just over a tenner. I bought the bottom one...well one very similar...its brilliant and works flawlessly.

At that price the shops can keep them on the shelves gathering dust.
They are not gathering dust though. They sell well and are far better than the copies in some case. Limited edition colours catch plenty of anglersas well and go for more money than the sale price. Some cheap copies are really bad though, not just poorly manufactured and dressed but badly copied. They have crap actions, cast very poorly because of balast issues or non working weight systems. Some copies work fine, many don;t

As they say " some catch fish and most catch fisher folks"

That is the thing right there. The selection of lures from Ali E may not be as well made as the real deal but at the prices they charge you have far more to choose from to find one that will catch the fish. If you are out and snag on a rock and loose one you are not going home down €29 for one lure. Henry Gilbey is a well respected angler and when he says these knock offs catch fish I think to myself I will try some of these lures. I used to catch bass on rubber eels before I moved out here some would be Eddystones and some would be cheap knock offs costing way less than half the price ... the results were unchanged if the fish were in a mood to go for sand eels. As to the Patchinko lure its self if a bass can tell the difference between the real one and the other why the hell are the going for either as none of the two are actually that convincing as being a real fish :ROFLMAO:

Aside from the issues already mentioned, I can't be doing with waiting for stuff to arrive from the far East. I try to support UK suppliers and buy most of my hooks & rig making bits from Ian @GPSguru - Lyme Bay Tackle https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/ianparkoak/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=
Or Kevin Ash on eBay - https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/kevash123uk/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=
They might not be the cheapest but I would sooner my cash goes to great guys that provide excellent service.
Cox and Dildo have all there hooks.Swivels etc coming from China!

We laugh but the amount of stuff that comes out of China and you don't even know it was made there is staggering. The computer I am typing this message on for example. A few years back I bought a new router I ended up spending a bit more on a Bosch unit... well you know where you stand with Bosch don't you ?... got it home and unpacked it for use ,made in China . There was a time when if you bought something that was made in China you knew it was and there was a made in PRC stamp there for all to see. What is happening now is Brands you used to know as made in the UK or Europe are now made in China and you have to hunt for the proof!
I bought a Grauvelle rod it is very well made as far as I can see and was not very cheap. The company used to operate out of Spain and is as far as I am aware no longer trading now. Any way I can find no marks on the rod whatsoever that give a clue where it was actually made ... my money is on China. That does not mean it is a poor product, it just means it was not made in Spain which is where it came from! One thing I see a lot more now as well is the logo "designed in x country" but yes made in China that even applies to products designed in the US... Penn and Apple comes to mind.

Also Malaysia, Thailand comes to mind. One of my Honda motorbikes was made in Thailand to Japanese Spec. BMW and KTM ones are made in India. My old Intrepid Pirate Multi was made in the UK, will be a vintage item soon.

Cox & Dildo! ????? There isn't much that doesn't come from China, but I would sooner put some dosh in the hand of a UK supplier, even if the goods did originate 'over there'!

Agree. And there has been a lot of publicity surrounding the trade deal with the USA and the possibility of 'Chlorinated Chicken' and other such delicacies coming in. Folks (including me) have said "Buy British - look for the Red tractor", but what is there to stop companies like Tescopoly importing whole Chickens in bulk, jointing them up, and sticking a Union Jack on them because they were "prepared & packaged in the UK"? The other issue that has just occurred to me with foodstuffs, especially meat, is it will probably have to be frozen on it's journey across the Atlantic, so are we to be warned "Do not re-freeze"? Minefield.

Agree. I've got a new & unused Penn 320GTI which has been in a cupboard for years, clearly marked "Made in USA". So with everyone saying the USA built reels are much better than the far Eastern ones, is it worth more than a new one? ??

Companies pay to use the red tractor logo, doesn't mean unfortunately it is good quality. Buy fresh from local butcher from where it has been reared and slaughtered.

Old Blue Bosch was Great ive a 4.5" and a 9" Grinder made in Germany way but the later ones are Shite! Tool place near me when was looking at chop saws was saying sold a 9" guy brought it back gearbox bust got another out tried it before took it and that was Mank! sold him something else!
Ive an old AEG 9" that is the Rolls Royce so smooth no grunda grunda on gears it's power fuller than newer ones only downside is trigger is on/off instead of just release but for many it's better on/off. Mind need to gig it out and sell it!.
My Jigsaw is older blue original style where cover over gears you unscrew to get at them job done where as later one was all enclosed "Hassle"
They went to Malaysia then to China won't buy Bosch myself anymore new.
My 5" is Hitachi that's good. but another one that isn't so good anymore

Have Makita gear a lot of the newer gear is China made they have there own Factories all over world much of it is to get into markets in each country like in USA they make there also.
My Makita 5903 Saw is made in UK. Drill and Impact driver Japan.285 Impact Wrench is UK but going back as faulty! But Makita are good on warranty etc as my old 18v drill both batteries leaked NI Mh type out of warranty but they replaced(Think they'd had an issue with bad batch?)
I was prepared to rebuild them with panasonic cells.

But also many brands make for others or hive off old models to others or China etc As my Metabo 6" orbital Sander is sold by DeWalt made in Dewalt colours as Metabo brought a newer model out.

It's like the China Chainsaws like Farmertec/Hutzl there old Husqvarna/Stihl Models that they have sold plans to them as no longer made.
Mind not bad saws.

Many of the Rods have never been to spain apart from waving as go bye on the Container ships! Made in China Packaged shipped then go to country of sale and sent to places like Veals.
A clue to where made is the sales blurb/Info. How they word things esp when go on about Butt Cap!

Honda made in Thailand is to get into that market so they make there no import duties tailored to there roads/needs and seen as Thai bikes by Natives!
Volvo/Honda/Stihl/Husqvarna/BMW/Mercedes and many more make in USA so a home market for the Red Necks

Cheaper Manufacturing costs in Thailand, also moved from Japan for a number of motorbikes due to hurricane and sea surge that flooded a number of manufacturers factories getting flooded. I thought the red necks only made moonshine.

Yamaha moved their MT model production from Japan to Indonesia.

That’s it!go on and have a pop at us rednecks why don’t cha!!
#Rednecklivesmatter
Gonna round up the boys an come an whoop yo asses..................??????
Well I do De clare - yesum boss ?. You're not the redneck on his third marriage with the same inlaws?
