Would you or have you bought anything on Aliexpress?

Don't know how or why but ended up on this site think it was a cookie from my earlier bearing searches. They have lots of fishing clobber, some named brands. Also looking at bearings for fishing reels same specs as you are being quoted at the reel tuning companies but at ridiculously low prices, also sensible P&P rates thing is would you trust anything you bought from them?

I would never buy from them again. Bought a pair of shoes that I had seen a photo of but couldn't find anywhere else online. Quite good (cheap) lightweight shoes for around £28. Royal Mail wouldn't deliver them unless I paid the £13 handling & import fees, so my £28 shoes suddenly cost me over £40. Never any mention on AliExpress that I might have to pay any import fees, and me being green as grass about it, got caught out. Only happens once - very wary of some of these foreign websites now. I also heard a rumour that some of the branded fishing tackle is counterfeit cheap crap.

It normally takes 4 - 6 weeks to arrive from original order etc. You may get customs import duty (20%) for goods over £15
Plus the standard £8 handling fee from Royal Mail, as they are the authorised body to collect these charges.

I am going to order an assortment of floating and sinking half a dozen is only €25 inc p&p One thing I do notice the seller is Kingdom fishing who sell on Amazon as well but the price on amazon is way higher??
If your £25 order is shipped from China, you will probably get collared like I did, for a fee around £12.

I only buy lures etc never paid any taxes
And the lures are cheap but they catch
In rather chuck a £2 Ali lure over snags than a £25 lure
As for clothing no I wouldn't buy from ali
My lure parcels from Ali are always marked down in price
The only thing that has change some times is all my orders come in one parcel even thou they've been ordered from all over China

They’re charging vat a source to the U.K. now, so no more charges here, not that I’ve ever had that experience myself, nor anybody else I know.

The reason RM do it is they are on a commission! It is a flat charge and does not in anyway reflect the value of the object. I bought a visor for my helmet from Jersey and it cost £18 RM handling charge £12 in effect robbery but you cannot get your goods unless you pay their "handling charge'

If you wade through the mountains of sh!te you can find some half decent stuff on AI.
I buy slow jigs, a few other lure copies and in 2019 I bought a KastKing Sharkey FS spinning reel.
At £50 the reel wasn't the cheapest but it turned out to be top value for money.
It had far too many bearings for it's own good but surprisingly the drag was powerful and silky smooth. It coped quite easily with 20lb+ threadfins in GB.
I've never had an issue with import tax, RockRover did mention in a previous post that the sellers always understate the value of the contents which keeps you under the tax thresholds.

I brought the kastking sharkey gold lll 4000
For overseas use and it handles double figure bonito cuda mullet easy 18kg drag
For UK bassing I've got the sharkey 3500
Lovely light reel
I'm just waiting on some lure boxes 14 compartments £16 for 3

Looking at one of these from Ali...maybe...?

Bought lures, braid, hooks and lure boxes off Ali, never paid any duty. 20 quid or more lures are not guaranteed watertight and the hooks are often carp. If I want a lure of a specific colour then I would rather strip down a 3 quid lure and spray it.

I have some lures coming soon. I may apply a little bit of glue around the hook mountings before I use them and along the seams if they look dodgy. However loads of folk have bought these things and not had too much to complain about. A patchinko lure can cost up to €29 plus 4.95 p&p down here. A Kingdom copy from AliE €4 inc P&P it may well not be as good but how much?

I'm tempted by some of the fishing clothing on there...but sizing is weird....
£17.01 30%OFF | Daiwa White Duck Down DAIWA Fishing Jacket Warm Hooded Thick Puffer Jacket Coat Male High Quality Thermal Winter Fishing Clothes
Ordered this jacket (in black) on the 10th January and just arrived now. Must say it's very nice...feels very warm, lots of pockets and well put together. We'll have to see how water resistant it is 16115688843904786759635758364704.jpg

Just received the lures I ordered from Hunthouse on Ali E and having taken a look at them I am well impressed! The finish on them is really nice and the hooks look very good and are very sharp. I ordered these on the 12th Jan so delivery time was good too! Ordered some 8 strand braid too and it is smooth as silk. So four bass lures, two different sized black minnows 25g and 40g plus extra bodies and 500m of 8 strand braid for 39€ and no additional charges... I think I will be back there again for some of their Asturie copies they only charge 16€ for four assorted colours and the real ones are 24€ each here!

I was looking at the type of clothing you have bought, not the thermal onesie :ROFLMAO: , the jacket . It looks good in the pictures and the feedback has been good think it is worth a punt?

Damn..
You noticed! Chrissie prezzie from the Mrs....but its brilliant!
The jacket is really nice....just look carefully at the sizing.
Four of the zips on the front are blanks....no pocket underneath...but enough otherwise. Two way main zip and detachable hood. Been wearing it this morning outside and its very warm. I think for the money its excellent value.16115752273708507103974901197824.jpg161157528121547681006522608648.jpg

Not knocking it too much bud as when it gets cold down here I wear merino wool thermals !
The jacket looks good! I am a size L bordering XL what would you advise I go for based on your sizing for the one you bought ?

I'm 5'11 and weigh about 87kg so I would guess a similar size to you. I bought the 3xl and fits perfectly...still a little room for a few layers underneath too.

Ive bought loads of lures off ali, the 'other place' has a good thread on the ones worth trying, hooks and rings can be poor so worth changing.
Only other thing to watch out for is that since 1st jan they add 20% uk vat at the checkout, I'd be surprised if it makes it into rishis' ! Means my fave feedshallow copy has gone up to £3.90 !!
