Hello everyone,

I used to fish the admiralty reguarly when i was a kid with my dad. Last few months really been getting the urge to go back for old times sake. When I look at the website fishdover.co.uk it is like applying for a job in the MI5 to get a pass there for the day. Is this still the case? You need to sign up for a port pass, do a test, go have your photo taken at the port it just seems a bit crazy to me for a day fishing.

Is there any other good piers around the South East that I can do some mackeraling and fishing that isn't as complicated. I just had such fond memories of the admiralty from when i was younger i really wanted to get back there.

Thank you for your time.

Welcome to the Madhouse FrankstaH! 👍👍

Sorry but I can't offer any advice - I'm way down the bottom Left hand corner of England!

Best part of 30 years since I fished Admiralty, hardly a rod length to the next angler, with some taking 3-4 bin bags full of Mackerel.
almost put me off angling.
That end of the docks is a lot more developed now, so increased security is to be expected, I know at one point it was completely closed to angling.
Almost every pier I've fished has been a pita with all the rules, far easier to just fish off the beach.
