South Coast Turbot, plaice, sole, gilt bream, black bream, gurnard and thornback. Not a bad session!!!

I had a mini conger and a smoothhound pup as well to add to the list, 11 species between us for the evening.

The rigs are plaice magnets, I had seven this afternoon, three tub gurnards, (two of them were the smallest I've ever seen, about 6 inches long) and an undulate.
No bream at all today which was strange.

Not mentioned by Goateee, but a Romanian chap stopped to chat for a while, a freshwater fisherman who had never sea fished. He was so taken by the stream of fish being caught that he went to get his kit from his van. With one of Goatees rigs and one of my weights he set to it, he was a typical freshwater striker, it's an international thing, my freshwater fishing mate still does it. The faintest tremble of a bite was met with a huge strike and no fish; after being persuaded to let the bite develop and just lift into the fish he brought his first sea fish in, a small black bream.. He was well pleased with himself and is now a convert to sea fishing.
He was a real nice guy. It was good to meet him and help him out. He was so excited when l took his picture.

WOW Goatee! Brilliant report, fabulous photos and a great mix of species! Well done that man! ????

A how-to on that rig would be good! ??
Wow back at you. I appreciate the feed back. I can't do much from my sun bed, but it was just a 30lb rig body with small swivels tied in line with 15lb 12 inch or so snoods with the size 4 crab hooks Kamasan blue ones. Swivel at the top to go on the leader clip and a running ledger bottom with 16 inch or more snood with same hook. I caught on all the hook positions. Short or no worm tails on the hook help with the bream hook ups as they are such good bait snatchers. Only used a 2 or 3oz lead as fishing with 10ft flattie rods. All quite light so you can feel the fish - especially the turbot.

Well mateys rod certainly did! As you know, my multi species catches are usually minis. Very happy with this selection.
Thats just such a nice mix of fish ...... mixed bags can just be lots of the mundane species but thats a really nice mix o kippers.

Century as normal stepped up to the warranty on their rods.......... like to see another manufacturer do that, a great company in a world of chinky wobble sticks, and British jobs!

Top stuff! If only every session was as varied… and busy!! Nicely done.

Thats some cracking fishing you did there mate, very well done to you both. (y) (y)
From the hook selection and rigs to the end result was sweet. As you know, one new species in a session is good, 2 is great, and the fish selection made a nice change. Haddock did well then and since. No doubt he will be telling me they are no good now cause the hooks have gone blunt. Better start doubling up I suppose! Cheers mate.
