South Coast Tsf meet cogden the 21st

Thought it might be a good idea to bump this.
HW is 19.22
Weather overcast with some sunny bits 20% chance of rain.
Wind force 3 south wester maybe 4 later.
Wave height will be under 1m.
It looks like a bit of a flatty bash and a social.
Gray n I will go down for a recce in the week, we are going to look to the right of the bottom right hand path hoping the clay beds are a little closer to make it a bit easier for everyone.
The sole tourno and I had were all on our longest casts, it looks like the clay beds are partially covered with shingle to the East so hoping to find them exposed to the west and close enough for everyone to be able to get on them with a moderate cast.
I expect to fish with blacks n loops or 3 hook pats.
This weekend the pin whiting have turned up and the spiders have backed off.
The mackerel should be there if you fancy a pop at a bass or ray.
We will spread out and try and hold a bit of beach for people arriving later.
The pay and display machine has been out of order for a couple of months.
I have not bought a ticket for 5 years and will not support the NT but its up to you but they cannot fine you.
I will post back on this thread Friday evening what the final location is and any changes.
Bait........
Remember its smaller tides this week if your coming get your orders in for blacks, Aaron at Abbotsbury has a limited number of wraps coming in so order early to make sure.
West Bay Angling Centre had some cracking rag n blow in last week if your coming in from the West.
Hopefully heading up on Friday, will let you know how we get on

Thanks Dexy Gray the Ray and I are going out Weds going to try and find the clay and some Plaice which have been missing for a fortnight.
Your extra casting ability should serve you well, one thought...... the samalite match guys only found sole in darkness.
Likewise will let you know what we get, if you can get fresh crab there is a shit load of smuts at range on the flood.

If I can finish work commitments early enough I will be about. Ordered bait just in case ?
Be good to see you.... I am in for a long one so will be there well into the evening, will post exactly where we are going Friday eve.

Your extra casting ability should serve you well, one thought...... the samalite match guys only found sole in the most wrstern sector.... which was the sector closest to the car park, I dont think any flats came from the Eastern sectors.
Anyway you will 100% find clay at about 130, 200m East of the Cogden car park and Gary and I both had sole on that patch.
Gray and I are headed West from the car park.....
Likewise will let you know what we get, if you can get fresh crab there is a shit load of smuts at range on the flood.
That area East is exactly where I was fishing. Left hand path. Down to the bottom 150 yards east.
Started approx 100-120 out.

So Gray the ray and I went looking for the clay on West Chesil hopeful of finding a few flats.
We could only get rag which is not anywhere near as good as lug and the rag we picked up was poor.
The forcast was a light NW we got down to a 20mph W.... I had taken light FS rods n braid, not ideal!.
Gray kicked us off with a nice smut....... and that was it for a bit!.
Having little confidence in the worm I decided to get the feathers out and try for some maks..... I got 2 whoppers the a load of joeys.
So Gray puts one out for a ray and bags 11.5lb of pretty undulate......
I then grabbed a couple of bass one about 3 one over 4.
And we finished with a flurry of smuts gurnards, pout, whiting and straps.
If I had blacks I reckon I would have found some sole, I know a few came out the night before.
@Dexy Smash it out there, ....... location edited because of lurkers will post meet location friday eve.
