Anyone here own any of this companies reels ? Especially interested in the top spec 6500, are they a tournament reel or strong and reliable distance fishing reel ? Specs suggest they should be a very good clean to mixed ground reel but not sure about the bearings or if the mag is powerfull enough for casting a big bait into a wind.

Good strong reel, incredibly well made treat them like an Abu in oil and blocks . Casts like a dream . Wind in the mag and it casts very smooth unwind the mag and it gets fast very fast . To be honest I personally think the mag could be a bit more stronger . Iv got eight of them .

£524 without the gold bling and the spec suggests a pair would outlive me if I like them but then if I don't they would be sold on fairly soon. Only used the 7ht mags twice and although they do everything I want from a clean ground reel I'm just not liking them as much as my very old original chrome rocket and find I'm using the recently purchased Penn fathom 2 stardrag mags in size 12 more so the 7ht's will probably go and these rockets may well replace them.

My rocket reels have replaced my 7ht mags which I find not up to the job seem just to flimsy and need constant maintenance they cast good but that’s all I can say about them

Tight git Dave... 🤣 🤣

Ian.
Justification innit! I can't justify spending huge amounts on tackle that will only get used 3-4 times a year, or even less.
Not been out with a rod yet this year for a number of reasons.

Two or three times a year, I've been going two or three times a week for the last six weeks and probably doing sixty notes a week in bait . Keeping it in perspective I very rarely drink but know many that spend that on Friday night drink.

If your gonna drop big cash on a fishing reel then the mag st is the easier one to own.... the retrieve wont give you wankers cramp either!
The retrieve on the fathom 12 is quicker and they feel more robust and I like the ratchet on them so I can back the drag off and get the audible warning when a hound takes the bait which is probably why I'm using them over the 7 ht mags. The Rocket reel looks as though it doesn't have a ratchet either but will be phoning them to see if one can be fitted.

For balance neither does the ST!
Just so you know this conversation leads to the fathom 12 mag....... and they are decent.
Which I already have and have been using recently. Maybe I should hang on to the 7ht mags as I've heard they are about to be discontinued.

I would hold onto them for the occassions that twenty yards is useful.
I reckon that with the 7hts and fathoms chuck in some magged saltist 20s and the jobs done....
