SeasWest fishing rigs.

Apologies for not posting on here much. It has been a simple choice when rig orders are cleared, fishing or social media/forums and I am afraid the internet comes a poor second :)

I have had a few trips since my last report and have progressed from chilly weather to baking hot and sunny, sun hat and shades.

The fishing has been kind to me with numerous congers eels to just over double figures plus a few rays. I upped my line strength and this has helped with the line snags and now instead of losing fish on them I am pulling in little gifts of end tackle along with my fish!

What I am going to do is put up a blog linked to the online shop. Not the basic one that I currently have, but one where I can actually tell a story with the photos in the correct place in the narrative (including the Bristol Channel Mermaids! ) . I will post the link here when I update it.
Great report & photos Kev! Look forward to the blog. The Eel in the last photo looks like he wants to give you a snog! 😁😁🎣🎣😁😁

Nice report Kev, lovely eel as well. Now get back to rig making... :D 🎣🎣

Cod feathers Kev? Can ya do some please? Will order before Midnight but don't expect ya to make them by then! 😂😂

Bought some last year (not from you!) but they were shite - the knots weren't pulled tight, and they'd tied an overhand knot in the rig body, and a figure of 8 knot in the traces, and as soon as the knot in the rig body came slack the traces fell out! 🤣🤣

5 sets, 3x 5/0 or 6/0 hooks, White Feathers, rig body approx 1 metre but will leave that up to you, as with the hook trace lengths.

Was going to make some myself but have got a 'Bank Holiday lazy head' on!
These were the ones I bought - I'll never buy WSB gear again. 🙄🙄

Got your text bud - Sadly this is something I do not do as there is simply no profit in it for the time spent to make them - oh and I have no white feathers and no chickens around for miles :)

No problem Kev! I've got some feathers & bits so will just have to kick my own lazy Arse! 😂😂😂

EDIT: I could have mentioned that the reason for my enquiry! I was out on the end of a Pier last year, and a nice Pollock took a liking to my baited Cod feathers, he was slightly under size so went back, but I thought I'd try for his bigger Brother!
Those WSB rigs are shite! Even the guy in the Tackle shop advised me to carefully check the knots before using them. 🙄🙄

No! Somebody in a local Tackle shop said that baited Cod feathers would find me some Pollock, and it worked, but the rigs he sold me were crap, so was going to try to make or buy some decent ones and have another go!

Defo fluff chucking antics going on there tramps you want pollock just use a 3 inch redgill or deep spun frozen sandeel bey your pick up the bigger ones that way not just the baby’s

I've found the spun Sandeel work well as Tat said 👍
Only problem is the Pollock are about 100 yards out in a deep pool at this particular mark, so you wouldn't get out there with a light bait or spinning rod. Needs at least 4ozs and a long beach rod to get the bait out there.

🤔. Maybe a bagnal bar and a long hooklink with that Sandeel. Wind in slow.

Lads fish small eel bait at 150y+ on chesil for the blondes with a tail wind.👍

Best tie your own feathers for power casting.....I did get some tied as a one off once, from someone on here.....worked a treat with a 6oz at chesil....🤫

I know mate ...that's why I never asked for any more 😆.....they did work well, and nice to have a proper casting strength line.

Maybe offer them at a high price to cover the time and hassle?...do any of the cheap brands do them heavy enough for proper power casts?.....if not, double or treble normal price is cheap 😁👍

Would have helped with the ones I bought from a local tackle shop had the knots tied properly. You only had to glance at the rig and the traces were falling out! 🙄🙄
