I turned up at Dungeness once and set up in front of the lighthouse.
After a while it started getting foggy and this awful fog signal started. It was so loud that I had to pack up and go home
Unfortunately not...but two or three times I went out with my mate in his boat.
There I released my good other mate and apprentice into the world...I almost got him home although still feeling green to the gills. Then in true Tow-rag style he fell overboard just as we were tying up at West Looe harbour. The baton has been passed.
He does now....wotcha PK.
Yes I have paid dearly for my catches. I have only been out a small number of times swinging the lead, as the band and gigging and rehearsals sorta took over. Still have a good supply of mackerel Pollack and whiting in my freezer....at the cost of having to rest up my leg for months after severe injury. After a good sesh, I was struggling down a steep incline on the coast path under full kit when my foot went down A rabbit hole and twisted it to blazes... fracturing my ankle. Luckily (what???) I wasn't too far from the car.
A fan of our band has been taking me out in his boat off Looe. Funny how you still catch the same old species...only BIGGER. I lost a fair bit of tackle to Tuna. I'll take it though...That reminds me...I really must stump up for a life-jacket and a long length of bungee.
What??? C-Fish??? You mean that I have to go all through that over again lol.
The first time my scooter mysteriously broke down.
The second attempt it broke down again in the exact same spot.
On the third attempt I was successful and we enjoyed a sunny afternoon afternoon catching...only for me to be fined by the COVID cops returning to Bodmin. We were still in lockdown.
I got my fine reduced to £30 from the original £60 as I managed to persuade the beak that I broke curfew to obtain necessary food supplies. Good job I had a handsome bag of fish at the time I got pinched.
