Quantum.

Any one have any experience with the Quantum lure fishing reels?

Thank.

I can't be of much help - I've got a Quantum Baitcasting reel as in the image, and it appears to be a lovely little reel, very well made, but I'm hopeless with a multiplier and found the same with this little Baitcaster! Bird's nests every other cast - no fault of the reel, just the idiot trying to use it! Not seen any other Quantum products.Quantum TG400CX.JPG

I’ve not been able to pick up and have a play with any of there reels but some of it looks very nice and well made/thought of.

Only thing I can suggest is have a good trawl through Google for Quantum fishing reels and see if there is a stockist near you. I had a quick look and there is one at Warrington, but that is a bot of a haul from Anglesey.

I've got the throttle 50, the older black and red model, can't fault it really. If I'm being honest, I use it for alot of my boat fishing, coupled with a 20-50g spinning rod. It is amazing fun with the hounds in the summer! Also good fun drifting for pollack and wrasse. Possibly my favourite setup that I have. I use 30lb Chinese braid on it and apart from removing and oiling the line roller every few trips, I haven't had to do anything to it. Ive had it a couple of years now and the drag doesn't seem as good as when I first got it but that's partly my fault as I've left it done up a few time for prolonged periods between use. Going to try and get some carbontex drag washers for it sometime to resolve the drag issue.
All in all, I'd say it's a damn good reel.
I've bought myself a couple of cabos for beach and heavier boat work and love them aswell, very very solid reels that I would highly recommend to anyone.
Hope that's of some help.

I bought my cabos from ABC... Do they keep stock of any other quantum reels there? If not I'm sure malc could sort something out.

I’m pretty sure Malc still carries some of the Quantum reels, think I’ve seen them on his eBay store listed too.

Quantum have had some decent kit over the years but like most companies have been shafted by bean counters and venture(Vulture)Capitalists that lower/cheapen quality.
If i remember right? Zebco and Ryobi is part of there range?

But pretty sure in the up coming year that there is going to be a big change in gear much won't be available here and what is will be limited with increase in prices(Can see it already starting)As one they don't want any loose kit in market that has to be sold off cheap.

I had seen Zebco mentioned when I was googling for info. And you're right about the availability of gear. There have been shortages of a lot of stuff here recently, and some of the USA guys I sub to on Youtube have been saying the tackle shelves in Walmart & Home Depot have been near empty for months.

I think Zebco are the owners/distributors of Quantum as I had a Quantum rod the had a spigot that developed a crack and had to go through Zebco to get the new section, it was actually better than dealing with Sonik when I tried to order a new tip section for one of their rods and Zebco aren't even based in the u.k like Sonik are!

It makes sense that alot of places are struggling with supply at the minute, but I haven't bought alot of gear this year so haven't had any trouble myself. It's a shame there isn't more goods made in the u.k, even if they're abit more expensive.

Zebco used to be in with ABU years back as many fixed spools like the 44.55 etc was Zebco
