I like how simple the rig is done in this video. Looks like a good rig.

Chesilpete mentioned he preferred it to the 2 hook cascade rig. Am begining to see why

I will give this a try

If you tie it like that the snoods take casting stress, (pointed out by mushty on another thread)
I've just tied this, which removes any casting stress from the snoods, while keeping the lower loop,
I've used a phone wire sliding stop on the impact shield so it can be moved to allow for changing the top snood length.
You could also use a sliding lead clip, with the lower snood swivel tied to the main line as per the vid.

Yes I noticed that when I built it.. I even posted on the YouTube video to be aware of that issue when casting.
I amended it to what you posted.. thanks for that
I used a breakaway sliding crimp on mine to make the shield and top snood adjustable
The only thing I disagree about is the gap left above the shield bead in your pic... I was made to understand the bead had to be held up agsinst the top of the shield as per breakaway instructions??

If you look at the 2nd photo the twisted green wire is the stop, so there's only about 3mm to the bead.
I once forgot to put a stop above the impact shield bead at all, when I wound the rig in, it was several inches (100+mm) above where I'd set it,
so I don't worry if there's a bit of a gap they can slide a long way ;)

I just tied another, this time with the sliding lead clip & swivel tied to the mainline, which looks like it might work better,
again a phone wire stop above the impact shield so it can move up/down the main line as required
