Review Maged saltiest

Mags made all the difference on my 20’s and so nice to fish with I have to force myself to use my other reels at times. Tried mine with the blocks at first but really lively and found it one less thing to keep in mind. Must admit Chris Macey done mine but him and black dog only ones I would use.
Do you have a photo of the Macey Mag, please.

Someone beat me to it ,it retains the clicker and cost £30 each as an aftermarket fit. It has taken the reels to another level. Can’t beat them up the channel imo or big seas on Chesil.

I actually found I could grip the thirties better than the twenties as my hand fit just inside the end plate on the thirty rather than against it on the twenty.

Pair of Daiwa 18 Saltist 30H's arrived today.

Used my daiwa 20s all last night just didn’t feel the need to step down to my f1 rockets the saltist are becoming my go to reel now there that good, so bloody smooth and getting really good distance with them i feel there might be some tg reels up for grabs very soon because im serious thinking of getting 2 more 20s , iv given mine a mega bearing wash out and used yellow rocket oil and they seriously fly very happy with them, don’t quite no what todo with my mk1 fathoms

Hi Mike
Are they that good with distance etc?
It’s a shame they don’t have a size smaller in the range nearer the Fathom 12/515 size then maybe I would have a look 👀.

Ive got the 20 ‘s and like you Mike my go to reel for most things I’ve got Mk I fathoms and I’ve put paddle handles on them and done the bearings etc and got them running a treat with lighter line they fly and will be my plaice and distance reels on Chesil. Will be less reliant on my 65’s that have rocket bearings and mono mag will be more for odd occasion as a throwback. Got to admit the saltists are a different league my casting specials are just a channel back up reel now.

They do ,the 15H but don't think any UK shops stock it but can be bought on the bay or from over seas shops.
