I am heading up to the Ellary estate & have been looking for any information on what species can be caught & tackle I should be using.

Thanks in advance

Greetings 😎
I think you may mean Loch Caolisport

It's an area I know very well as my family have a house on the road from Tarbert to Kilberry.
Your main species there will be sea trout, mullet, pollock a heavy duty spinning rod that's capable of doubling up as a light legering rod should cover you. There is also a chance that you may encounter a thornback ray but personally I've never had one. Directly opposite the estate on the other side of the loch the water is reasonably shallow with a sandy bottom, it chucks up the odd flounder, plaice and occasionally a wee gurnard.
If you want sea trout, get yourself a bombarda float and some sandeel imitations.
Hope this helps, tight lines.

Welcome to the Madhouse Ian. 👍👍.

Wrong end of the UK for me.
