So as the title suggests, I fished the shingle bank today. Fished from just before this morning's high down to low then packed up. This venue is my nemisis normally, I've fished it on ebbing neaps etc as that's what I've read but for whatever reason I just can't seem to do any good at this venue, until today that is. I've had the odd fish in the past from here but that's all.
So armed with 1lb of ragworm and pack of squid. 1 rod 2 hook clipped with small hooks , size 4 and the other rod a 2 hook loop rig with 2/0 with big worm/squid baits. Well from the off I was having bream rattles, well proper pull downs if I'm honest and the small hooks doing the do as first cast a 28cm bream came up. Deep hooked sadly but in size so dispatched for dinner. Re-baiting that rod and the other rod is dancing in the tripod, this time a double shot of bream, on the big hooks at that. Well to cut a long story short (too late I know), i had bites on every cast pretty much. A fella further up the shingle packed up a couple of hours or so of me being there and stopped for a chat saying he'd seen me doing alright and that I must have had 20 plus fish that he saw, I didnt question him as I'd lost count it was that manic. I think I had 6 maybe 7 double shots of bream throughout the session, the smallest bream was 25cm and biggest was bang on 30cm. One thing with the small hooks was that they were good for getting the bites but a few were deep hooked, luckily the better ones so I've kept 5 , all between 27cm and 30cm for a bbq . I carried on for another 2hrs after the fella had left and had well I don't know, I'm guessing nearer 40 than 30 bream in all, maybe more, 1 schoolie bass and a tub gurnard. I'm sat in my van writing this and still I'm trying to get my head around how manic that session was. I normally fish half way up the shingle bank or more but this time decided to go 60-80yds left past the rock mass as you cross the bridge. I got lucky either way, I'm off for a pint now. 20210918_130930.jpg20210918_120320.jpg20210918_094131.jpg20210918_125429.jpg20210918_135057.jpg20210918_153102.jpg

Quality session. That’s the bank rammed. Lol. It’s a fickle place though n changes tide to tide… massive we’ll done on timing and tactics. ? what a result!

You're not wrong about it being fickle. Like I said, I've fished it a few times (probably 10 - 12 times) before for very little reward. Seen fish being caught but not by me . All I know is I got very lucky this time, right place, right time, right bait, right rigs, right distance and the fish were there In numbers.

well done on finding those bream , it looked like a busy session.

Cracking session that, well done on getting there in the end and not giving up on the spot ?

That is generally where I go. Was there yesterday, just walking the dogs, sadly, no time for fishing.
Had a few bream last week, but never seen anything like that.
Great Result !!!

Getting on the fish after trying several times makes it even sweeter. Busy session. Well done you.

Fantastic catch of Bream, well done :)
