Favourite Sea Fishing Rod?

I think he's what's called an associate seller.
Sets up a website selling stuff that is delivered from a different supplier and he skims a bit off the selling price.

Something like that

You're probably right, but he's been at it over 2 months, and sold one item which never arrived, so got negative feedback! I can't see him lasting long with that sort of business model! ??

but at £95 it's a bit expensive
Does say Make Offer, worth a try if it doesn't look like selling. There's also a Vertix Gamma on there for £75 that's open to offers.Retail price of the Gamma was more than the Vertix Jack.Shame Home and Leisure doesn't have any Jacks left. Was almost tempted to buy one when they reduced the price.

Yep, Home-un-leisure was where mine came from, but since Grauvell have reportedly gone bust, I wonder if suppliers have been selling clearance stock for some time. I've put a watch on that Jack so will keep an eye on it. Often when people put stock up for auction with "make an offer too", I find they are expecting an offer in excess of the auction start price. If they were willing to accept less than £95, they would have started the auction cheaper. I've got 3 beach rods already, so not desparate for another, but if I see one at the right price, I could be tempted to suffer the nagging from SWMBO! ??

Edit: I see that Vertix gamma has an RRP of £199 - the Vertix Jacks were on Home-un-leisure for a RRP of £299 just over 2 years ago. They were selling them Buy-it-now for half price at £149, but I watched & waited on the auction ones for quite some time, and snook a bid in on one at the last minute, which is how I got it for £57!

Yep I remember talking to you when you bought it.RRP on their site £149 you got it at a good price.Looks like they've stopped doing auctions, buy it now only, shame.
Yep, I think since Grauvell have now officially gone bust, stocks are dwindling. Having said that, Davey's fishing tackle have currently got quite a few for sale, but his prices range up to nearly £500! Whilst I appreciate that any problem with a Rod is the responsibilty of the retailer to sort out, not much chance of getting a replacement or parts with Grauvell gone.

Think that was a bit inflated.
Home-un-leisure always used to put the RRP on their listings - how accurate they were is difficult to find out now.

I've just done a bit of googling & came across this site:
Shame the Jack is sold out, but even though the site has a .co.uk website, it looks a bit dodgy to me. Possibly as you said earlier, Chinese dropshipping.

was going to say Ian Hodge was a fieldsports company, then I read your post again! Sorry!

Yeah I found that site and thought the same as you,a bit iffy.Everything priced at 80 odd pound and then reduced to 30 odd pound.
Hahaha! Having a dig around this morning whilst waking up with a coffee. Had another look at that DavidHodge site and saw this:
Whilst the listing says 2x DAM FD-30 reels, the image shows FD-60 reels, and I thought to myself "I recognise that image"!
It's from Davey's tackle on eBay - they've nicked it!

Cheeky swines! I've bought some stuff from Davey's and it's been good so I might just have to drop them a message - copyright & all that! ??

All my rods are favourites, just depends where and what I am fishing for.

My favourite rod is the one that catches fish. ;)

Ebay makes me chuckle some times! I was doing a bit of mooching around yesterday (purely out of boredom) to see what fishing items were for sale locally. There is a dubious character with 41 new rods for sale, yet he's a private seller not business, so no address or contact details. Most of the rods appear to be at the cheaper end of the market, in quality if not in price. And his feedback is -1! Yep - minus 1. Definitely one to avoid methinks!

Scam account plus gear is the lowest of low!

Agree! It was a week ago I posted that - he still hasn't sold anything (just as well) and his feedback is still -1!
