I think mine is a best trip of the year as I haven't been fishing alot this year.
It would be our Brixham trip in September, on the first day I had my biggest Pollack to date (11-12lb I think) which won me a prize in the Torbay angling festival, I had my first ever small eyed ray in the second day and a mate had a gurnard on the first day which was 7lb+ which won him a very good prize in the Torbay angling festival. Plus another mate had an even bigger Pollack and a 1lb+ dab which got him a couple of prizes too. All mixed in with the nice weather, it was an amazing few days away.

Stunning few fish there bud ????

Been a bit patchy here with not being able to get out as much as I’d like, but my best, or at least the fish I’m most pleased with…

Smoothound 13lb 14

Wrasse 4lb 4 1/2oz. Not huge by wrasse standards but pleasing to me as it was a local fish and usually they don’t get much above 3lb here, plus it was from a mark very close to me where I was convinced there could be big wrasse but hadn’t targeted them properly until this year.

And another in the same vein, not huge but a surprise as we get very few thornbacks around here. 8lb 5

Oh, and the recent whiting, 1lb 10. My pb is 1lb 13 but not had a really big whiting in years.

Some lovely fish above.
I haven't travelled much for sea fishing so just the usual local species...
no real specimens but some good fishing all the same.
Nice bag of dabs in January was the first time iv fished for them in ages so that was fun.

Then a first for me , catching bass consistently in the frosts of February.

Some early spring rays .

Couple of smoothound trips , 1 2 or 3 caught each trip. Upto 8lbs or so at a guess.

Decent bass about 4lbs on lure.

And a 38lbs carp favourite coarse fish of the year , not just due to its size but other reasons too.

Since the attraction of all night winter cod sessions faded I've done almost all of my fishing in Scotland in the warmer months, and with lockdowns and travel uncertainties I only managed one Scottish trip this year. Three fishing sessions resulted in over 50 fish, biggest a spurdog of 11lbs and the best looking, a lovely dark 5lb pollack. Hopefully we'll get a few more trips in next year.

Like others, not got out as often as I would have liked.

Nothing to write home about, but it put a smile on my face! Was out fishing with John, and he always takes the Mick about how long it takes me to get unpacked & set up. Had bait gear and a spinning rod with me - 2nd cast with a SG surf seeker, and in came a schoolie Bass!

1st confirmed Bass I have caught (so a PB!)
1st Bass on a Lure
And a big grin, as I'd caught something before John, despite his ribbing! ???
