A report from our match/get together today.

COLCHESTER sea anglers held a Crusty Club get together today on the beach at Coastguards Walton on Naze.

11 anglers fished this one despite the early walk off at 7:30am

This is a nominated species match.
Fishing was extremely slow with only a few fish ( 9) carded. And 6 anglers blanking
Despite that it was a good day with plenty of chat and banter.
There was a dead seal washed up on the beach and one wag commented that it had caught as many fish as some of us!!

Results
Whiting were the first nominated species, but NONE were caught.
Next it was a Ray, again NONE were caught.

These pools will roll over to the next Crusty Club.(date and venue to be announced)

Next was any Flatfish, Dabs,Flounder and a small Plaice were caught
Biggest Flat was shared between Concrete with a 5oz Flounder and RB with a 5oz Dab

Finally Bass, PB caught the biggest at 5oz, and CM second with a 1oz Bass

Well done to all who fished and congratulations to all who caught fish. It seems that whiting only come out in the evenings!

Nice report mate, shame the fish were not playing ball, but good effort anyway. 🎣 🎣
