Review Veals great service

We used to get the depot manager doing our deliveries for Hermes. Really nice reliable guy. Not had a single problem since Hermes was re-branded to Evri either.
Some of the other couriers are terrible. I ordered a new TV online which arrived with the screen smashed. The courier was ordered to collect and return it the following day. They issued an incorrect collection code and managed to lose the TV for 2 weeks. It was bought through Paypal, and without the correct collection code, they refused to issue a refund, and as good as accused me of pulling a fast one and still having the TV. It took me over 3 months, but I did get my refund. Thankfully, I took photos of the damaged TV proving that it was unuseable.

EDIT: Just checked back through my records. It was DPD that smashed the TV, collected it, and then lost it.

DX is a shite company. Not improved since Hermes
AFAIK DX has got nothing to do with 'Hermes', who have rebranded as 'Evri'.

All of these companies depend on the actual staff member who drives the van,
Hermes/Evri here have got fantastic youngish couple who take great care, they ring the doorbell & wait a few mins to hand me the item, or if I'm out they put it safe & leave a note.
I used to also have a very good DPD driver but he has now gone to DX, where he is still very good, but the new DPD driver just drops the box rings the bell & is off before I reach the door, Amazon here is poor I just find stuff on the door step often not even addressed to me, while the Yodel driver drops everything at the side door when 12 feet away is a covered area at the front door with an illuminated door bell that he can't be arsed to use.

My mrs's aunt sent her a bottle of bubbly March last year for her birthday but we didn't know. September I'm cutting the hedge in the back garden and find a mankey box. Just read our address on it and open it then take a couple of days finding out who sent it. Her aunt spoke to the sender who refunded her in full.

So they dump it over the back fence and it's hidden by the hedge but don't put a card through the door so we know.

That’s awful mate!

That’s awful mate!
Yep and had we known it was coming it would have been different.

But if it ever happens and you want to claim from the sender.

Parcels left in that way are not classed as delivered. The same as the ones left on a door step.
Don't waste your time with the courier contact the sender as they have the contract.

The only time they can leave dump parcels on or close to your property and you've agreed to it.

So anything left on your doorstep is not delivered. Down to the sender to replace or credit you. They then claim from the courier insurance.
They will try to bullshit you but have no rights.

Correct me getting confused.

But still hermes/Evri and DX have the worst name.

Shite staff can work for anyone just seems those two don't care.

The problem is, none of the drivers speak English these days, and are probably paid a pittance. Many a time we have parcels left on the doorstep in full view. Or the driver is back in the van and gone before you can answer the bloody door.

And no, i am not a racist.

Ian.

I only buy from veals are they more than other shops? I doubt it, incredible service and they stock everything I need and there delivery service is second to none, you can phone them and get mega information so I’m happy to do my shopping with them, same as russ his service is fantastic, even my bait I get from local bait diggers I don’t use my local tackle shop because they don’t stock what I need and every time I go there for bait I’m told only frozen stuff available so they’re losing a lost of business from me , veals have massive amount of choice in lines and hooks which local shops don’t , so I don’t mind paying a extra £ or two and it’s on my doorstep next day so no costly petrol and parking fees , so to me keep up the service veals and russ you got my services
