Tips or help for landing a big fish-

If it was clean ground and no snags, prob a ray, and unfortunately the line and gear just wasn't man enough to pry it off the bottom.... Esp if it was a muddy one ?....
They can really stick to the bottom at times, needing a fair bit of steady pressure to get them moving ?
