South West Road trip ?

National drive like a –unt day is the norm now.
So it seems, but it’s dawdlers and the indecisive that wind me up, not speeders, although they’re idiots too.
Why people just can’t drive roads normally, I’ve never understood.
Anyway I’ll stop going on about it on John’s thread.

I did like Ferrybridge the one time I fished there, but haven’t been again for some reason.
It does get pretty rammed I have to say, but that’s Chesil

Cracking fishing report and great pics. Lovely to see some of the tropical species come into our shores.

Heard a trigger was caught from Plymouth this week, so could be an interesting September.

Tourists. Bane of our lives in the South West in terms of crap driving and road congestion.

At least we are used to them it’s just when thousands of visitors come here our roads can’t cope with them

Seems a bit odd moaning about tourists using the roads as both of you have travelled a fair few miles from your bases over the last couple of days ?‍♂️?

How far does a local have to travel to be classed as a tourist ?

Pot kettle spring to mind ?‍♂️

Yes it’s too much isn’t it?
What I don’t understand is how some people can drive so slow on the A35? It’s a lovely road, easy to drive.
I was very tempted to go down to the meet today but just couldn’t face three hours or so to do what’s normally a 1.45 journey

Yep thats the only reason i didnt go myself . I would have enjoyed having a meet with some of the guys on this site and hopefully learnt something. The thought of 50mile queues of caravans and the walking past miles of fluff chuckers no thanks but next time maybe

Agreed..the roads in the South West are awful.
It's not the Roads Flappy, it's the idiots we get down here with no consideration for the locals, and the inability to drive unless they have a pavement one side & white lines on the other. When there are white lines, they tend to keep their offside wheels on 'em! As my mate used to say "No sense to drive owt"!

Great report John & Bob, and some good photos! Nice few unusual species too. Fair distance to go, but always good when Bob & John are off on a 'Road Trip'! ????
