Three of us sallied forth on the evening of the 24th July to have a bash in the River Dee in Kirkcudbright , above the road bridge fishing from the green merse.
We were expected flounder with the outside chance of a bass, fish baits were all we had.
We were there quite early as we hadn't fished it before so that we could get set up in daylight and get the location of all the wet gullies.
Well we didn't do so well, not a touch and we now know a 7.5m tide is too big for the mark as we got washed off about an hour before high water so we only fished a couple of hours of the flooding tide.
It all goes into the learning though and mate will keep an eye on the area and the tides that don't cover it.
