How far to back a trailer into water - newbie question

I've heard those greater Weever fish are good eating, but we don't get them here so never tried one.

I used to launch & recover my Orkney 520 all the time & above bearings. Good greasing but washing out with fresh water after process is important . Trailer servicing chap told me to unscrew one wheel nut & flush the fresh water in. I used to launch & recover with rope from trailer to my vehicle tow bar so that never got wet. Practice with "angles" of trailer to water led to a slick operation especially if you had to do it in a flooding or ebbing tide. I do the same when take the bigger PH20 out for a scrub etc.

Great boat for what I do. Can get out a long way in the right weather but also fish shallower areas in harbour. Fishes 3 comfortably but can go to 4. A few extras since the pic which was when I put her in for the first time.
Really needs 2 people to get on the trailer but could do on my own.
