The coddies seem to be hanging on in there this year?
 
Lovely to see some cod hitting the beach. Hopefully we'll see a spring run down our way this year. It's been a while now.

Hi Ian,
Yep on the Italcannas they are a prefect match.
I will say this though you chuck some weed in that backswell and they struggle and I switch to fathoms.
When you have a fish in that backswell its not how big your rod or reel is its all about not ripping the hooks out so the clutch on the reel is important. The ST clutches are fine untill you mix waves and fish then the faster and more powerful retrieve to get the fish moving quickly as a wave brings it all towards you is important.
Truth is the fathoms would have been more suitable on the day.
Range was not essential.
