Has anyone used a TTSMLD who can offer some feedback on what the rod is like to use.
Wanted to try and get one for clean beach/estuary use. Have heared there pretty good for hounds and well but not sure how true that is and what they would realistically be capable of

Capable of landing anything you're going to hook in UK water ;)
A late mate of mine had a Tip Tornado match 20 odd years ago, stunning casting machine in his hands but a bit too fast for me, so I went for a Kompressor which is a bit slower, more through action.

Brilliant- would be looking at the new graphex one if that would be the same?

Hit the older ttld sm and totally underrated rod will cast 5oz with ease and 6with a smooth style. Over clean and slightly mixed ground they will tame most we have in our seas. Had hounds over 13lb on them and never broke a sweat. Being light and thin they were my go to bass rod if I needed to touch ledger bumping a bait under ledges and into holding places in shallow water. Cast well both high and low reel position and sit well in the tide. Only times are if it’s lumping in and there’s a lot of weed in the water I would not use them.

Just what I wanted to hear, was hoping it would be a decent bass rod as well bit also cope if I wanted to use it on the cleaner grounds with a 5oz. Plan is to pair them with the fathom 12s and have a lightweight setup that should cope should I get into something a bit bigger 🤞

Will definitely cope with that I’ve used mine around rocky outcrops dropping a bait into the clean area between sets of reefs/rock pools and allow a bait to bump along and under any ledges or area that held the bigger fish and handled doubles easily.
There’s a bit about them so I could use them with a live bait in the gutter.
With the 12’s they will cast well and will put a bait well out there.

I have a pair of TTSM lds, ok with anything up to 5oz. Very thin rods, lovely action, I use mine for clean ground fishing and casting up to around 80 yards. The downside for me is that if you really get stuck in to them on the cast you will struggle to feel the rod loading, they load very easily and almost feel soft, which is a good thing as long as you don't want out and out distance or large baits. I've taken mine to chesil a few times after the flats, but I just can't achieve the distance that I need to reach the fish. Don't be put off though, I like mine, I've had a 17lb12oz hound and thornbacks to 15lb10oz (which was interesting!?) so they can handle big fish no problem. If I need to a big more backbone and distance I use my TTSMs, which will handle bigger baits and leads no problem.
