It's an odd year when a report of me catching a single gar at Weymouth is worth making.

Several people were float fishing, feathering and spinning for hours with nothing to show, no mackerel, no gar. I spoke to a chap who has been trying for days, not hours and has still not caught a thing.

Plenty of mini species close in.

Did try on the float at chesil for them a couple of months ago, but nothing.
Few mackerel on feathers at dusk then, it didn’t get a bite on the float.
Tried shallow for gar and a more sensible mackerel depth

Unusually late for a Gar fish, bit everything this year appears to be late.
As long as you had a good day, good ? sunshine and thankfully no grockels.

No that's a great sign of things to come.
I've been down all week.
ONLY blanked on Friday morning, I hadn't tried feather fishing ? before, believe it or not.
So after Thursday evenings feast ? on mackerel (12), in the space of 45 mins, I got up early and went to the Pier again.
Nothing ?
I was happy anyway a great week.
