Had another try for sole, hoping that the whiting might have thinned out. No luck with triple shots hitting the beach to rag and black lug from the off. After an hour I did manage to sneak one sole out . About 37cm so a keeper. The whiting were consistently being hit by conger, some thumping pull downs and slack liners. Odd one might have been a bass or even a cod but more likely conger. None hooked on the size 4s though. Guy to my left had 3 conger to 14.5lb. As the sole are hard to get to through the whiting I might have to try a live bait rig or some bigger baits for a bit of fun with the congers next time out.
