Maybe he is still operating online himself. Never called in as parking was always an issue.
Indeed the very fabric of society is changing and has changed, beyond all recognition. I was visiting my 92 year old mum last week and she was reminiscing about how the local shop closed down the week she arrived in the village, 60 years ago! All the shops are now closed in the neighbouring villages and it’s a drive to the nearest towns to get even the most basic of items.
Of course previous generations had to deal with changing times, but not at the rate that we are witnessing.
Their move away from retail premises and the shift in focus more into wholesale has been on the cards for a while. Ben has been very open and vocal about it. Shame but thems the breaks. Shops of all varieties, barring the successful chains, struggle to make enough profit to make the ties of shopkeeping and cost of stocking worthwhile
