No not as in have to buy something everytime you go in a tackle shop 😀
I mainly collect 80,s and 90,s John wilsron rods, also smaller shimano baitrunners.
Anyone else collecting "vintage "tackle ?.

Guilty! All sorts from big game to baby fly reels. The vast majority of it gets used, some bits (like Mickey Erends unbelievable Crabtree floats and tackle boxes ) are just too good/rare to use. I have tackle in every room and love it that way. The ex wife would hate it🤣

I do remember! on the Wilson avon quivers there was two different production runs.... one was full Cork and one was not which one have you got?
I have a spare! if your collecting send me a pic of the handle of the one you have?
If I have the other one happy to do a cheeeeeep deal

Awesome, I will pm you regarding this.
What I am still trying to get sorted is a nice example of the specialist, there's one in Chichester/ Brighton area on market........ but he won't post grrrrrrrrr

I'm not sure I would call myself a collector, in that I don't go for particularly any type of stuff, but I started fishing in 1971 using some of my dad's gear and then went on to ask for fishing tackle for every birthday and Christmas ever since, as well as spending far too much of my own cash on new gear. I still have most of it, including my dad's stuff and my very first rod, an Oakley All Rounder 10'6" in blue! As I fly fish, coarse fish, specimen fish, beach fish and boat fish I have, as you can probably guess, a lot of gear! The garage is pretty full of stuff, as is the loft and just for good measure I have some in a wardrobe too. (The wife loves me! :ROFLMAO: )

I did have some stuff nicked once but just bought even more to replace it. I've also given some stuff away to mates when they have been looking for something specific, but the piles never seem to get smaller.

I am just about to unload a shit tonne of gear, after years and years of stacking it up I am going to keep a few sets...... the rest I am going to think out.

Never intentionally collected antique tackle, but I do have a few bits from my younger days. Milbro 12ft glass beachcaster and an Edgar Sealey 7ft spinning rod to name 2. I did have a few KP Morritt, Intrepid & Mitchell F/S reels but sold them.
I think there is a bag up in the loft with a load of old gear in it, including a small Brass reel something like this one:

Currently on sale on Etsy for £187.73. 😮😮

I'm pretty sure the John Wilson Specialist is in an off white bag with large black writing on. I'll have a look in the garage tomorrow.
I think that's possibly the newer version? The blank is almost black rather than the usual green with gold writing, but could be wrong.

You're not getting rid of a Penn Fathom 12 are you? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I'm still gutted that I missed the ones Goose was selling, although I didn't actually want two.

I picked up a john wilson match rod and a newer version specialist rod last weekend, just can't help myself 😀 there is a jw carp rod on market place, but the guy won't post.
