Not many netters operating in the BC. Quite a few people using deadlines though. I've removed 14 multi hook lines in the last 2 years, take the fish, cut all the hooks off and cut a few feet from the middle of the string. At Lady bay last year someones spaniel picked up a baited hook at low tide and ran off rupturing a big blood vessel, it died in minutes from blood loss.
If you're coming to the BC try Lilstock reefs over low, 4 hours up at the pipe or the sand gully at Shurton Bars.

But cod don’t always go back that well anyway, plus depends how it was hooked I guess.

True, like a big Pollock and Ling, the bigger they are, then the less likely they are to survive.

Unfortunately, big fish don't always make good eating.
