Having lost a big fish on a easterly beach in May my gut instinct has been telling me for a while to get back there so a plan was hatched meet Chesilpete Ben and Tom at 7 fish till about 1 am high water 10 30 Pete was in first with a bloody codling oh my lord did we not expect that Ben landed a bass around the pound and a half mark and I like to call this photo of me baked mahogany lolIMG_20210905_000349.jpg

Baked mahogany! Lol! The seafarer look… nice little session mate, let’s hope the codling is the start of a hoard of cod hitting the beaches for the winter. As the sea temps seemed to have remained on the low side this year, maybe it will draw the cod in close? Fingers crossed anyway!

Let’s hope it all kicks off with the autumn and winter species! Been a very strange year, more eels than I’ve seen in over 15yrs, hardly any mackerel, the bass were plentiful, but about 5 schoolies for one decent one. I didn’t see any hounds or rays, (although to be fair, I didn’t target them this year) it’s been odd. ?

Well in boys
