South Coast Odd day out!

Where have all the Sussex plaice gone?
Not hearing of many is it that the grapevine is not working or have they already thinned out?
Glad you enjoyed your session Pete, shame there weren’t more of what you were targeting. Sounds enjoyable though and a nice ray for your buddy.

Plaice down here are still generally small, average about 30cm and not in large numbers. Odd reasonable bag of half a dozen or so, but nothing to write home about. Still keeping my powder fry at the mo, as was planning a trip this week, but with the forecast, not a chance.

Happy happy happy......... be fun to switch to rays at least the spiders know what a ray looks like and if they see one coming they get their heads down.
I reckon that that wind will move NNW and drop a bit, no good for plaice but good enough for rays, I guess we will know by Thursday.
Love a pay back video.... this is Australia but I have caught a few rays dripping spider crab juice n legs etc over the years.

Good question Pete. Not been since end of Jan and haven’t seen many reports of decent bags. Most have been sub 35cm too. Next settled spell and decent tides and I’ll be giving it a go.

I think we are in the same boat, so to speak Bob. I’ll give you a shout when next thinking of going as may be able to meet up and try and wrinkle a few flatties out.

Cheers Nige, certainly be good to meet up. Just need to keep an eye out for two or three days of northerlies, plus a half decent tide as well.

Nice one lads,

I set off to go fishing on sunday night. Thanks for the heads up pete. On arrival my mate had locked himself out of his car! So it was a case of driving him all the way back home to get his spare key and back to the beach. It was 2am at that point so we didnt bother.

Great session lovely to see a blonde that end. Thanks 🙏

Well we did go out as I mentioned Saturday, we took a chance the conditions were a bit cheeky when we got there in fact there were only 3 idiots on Chesil and that was us.
Anyway after a proper drenching and general weather shiteness we managed about 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000 dogs and ran away as soon as one of us was brave enough to be the first to suggest it.

I wish my mate had locked his fecking key in the car and we had gone home! you lucky fecker!!!
