South Coast Chesil now.

Came down for a few days fishing Chesil yesterday evening. Arrived just after midnight with a stiff wet wind blowing in. Weather a bit better now though not as friendly as it might be. Any local knowledge on where it would be best to try or would I be better off looking for a more sheltered location. I'll be around till at least Wednesday.

You could try Preston Beach, often used as a reserve venue for chesil matches.

Thanks for that. I'll check it out. I'l see what the weather is doing later and sort somewhere for this afternoons using tide.

The captains advice is good and it's a decent tide for Preston.
This wind is dropping and swinging Abbotsbury should be an easy fish this afternoon.
Sunday will be unfishable on main Chesil but Monday could be epic if you can get a bait out a bit and are prepared to fight a bit of surf and debris in the water. This blow that's going through should hit the magic cod button. It will be proper six n bait work but it should fish well.
There will be an element of Easterly in the wind Monday so stay back from the water especially on the early Ebb.
4/0 pennels on long pulleys or up n overs will work.
Add some blacks and you may have a great day out....
It's gonna rain too so shelter and full waterproofs need to be used.
I will be there from 12.00.

@drbit if your around tomorrow it could be one of the best days you could get on Chesil, I love a storm with a name!.
This camera does a 360 degree view wait till it pans round to the South.

I would not have posted if this scenario was alive on a Friday or Saturday but tomorrows flood tide will yield codling for certain.
Be nice to get a few.
Ultimately your right but 10% of the anglers make 99% of the effort.....
Fingers crossed I will put a nice report up tomorrow.

Blacks on 4/0s.
Not a breath of wind.
HW 22.30 magic hour will be @ 19.30
No cod by 20.30 switching to bass n rays.
