South Coast Chesil now.

Right that's about it, just the one codling.
Very enjoyable evening on the shingle, lots of fish couple of creditable eels and a lovely night to be out.
Highlight for me was the moon coming up over the hill behind and Ted barking like mad at it thinking it was a headlamp.
Howling at the moon I know how he feels!

Good effort Pete, great live report mate, shame you didn't get on the Cod. šŸŽ£ šŸŽ£

Ian.

So why did we not get more cods?.
Well the answer is in the pics really, although that chunk of weather did get the wave height up it just did not hit for long enough. There is no debris on the beach and I don't think it displaced enough food to stimulate the heavy feeding that kicks it all off.
It was bloody pleasant down there and actually we had a lot of fun.
I think we fished well although I still feel I am getting back into it after basically a long lay off.
The straps are a pest and the bass which are usually so reliable on Chesil don't seem to be running the beach, maybe we will have to go look for them in some structure locally.
The pest fish situation down West is a problem so next session will be central or east.
Today's a day of reel stripping and setting up.
Back out again soon... might take the fixed spool gear out and head for the solent or west Sussex.

thought that as soon as i arrived last night, wave was too small & not enough kelp in surf compared to when i have caught before down west.
