Hi I am thinking about a beach rod and a local supplier has a brand called Yuki. I think they are made in Japan, anyway this rod would be a very modest price I am thinking about €70 to a max of about €130 although they do some that are much more pricey. Be interested to see if anybody has anything to say about them or perhaps an alternative in that sort of price region. Another rod available is from Colmic an Altura again an inexpensive rod 70€ . Another brand sold is Vercelli they have a few rods in my price range thing is I want to buy local and my absolute top price is 150€.

Best wishes in your search! Good idea to buy local, but that probably means a lot of the brands available to you are not common here. I've heard of Vercelli but not the others. I would have suggested Grauvell Vertix but they went bust a few months ago. I've got a Vertix jack 4.5m conti rod, and I.m very happy with it.

I had the yuki q7 nice rod for a 3 peice set up ,quite popular rods ,I'm lead to believe they are a Spanish make ,,just Google up yuki rods

Buy a secondhand rod is my advice. There are many reputable brands in your price range that will far exceed your own abilities and you will always get your money back on if you decide to resell. Just my opinion buddy but the fish don't care how fancy the rod is that caught it? I bought a plum colour Zzippy Primo Synchro for £150 in very good condition that casts far further than I can?

Hi I don't think the rods are made in Spain although the main distribution centre is there. I think most of the gear is imported from Japan .

I can well understand that but living where I do it is perhaps not as easy to buy the rods you are talking about. I am investigating the secondhand market but there is not much coming up. As to casting I reckon any rod I buy will be more capable than me but it will be good to learn ?

You see what happens when you take advice and start hunting through eBay France for secondhand fishing gear. I went on looking for a rod and came across a Daiwa 7ht reel that was on at €45 and finishing very soon no bids so I put €51 on it and got it for the €45 that is about £40 ! It looks in really nice condition and comes in the original box with the papers, tools, spare brake blocks and even the tube of grease. I know you cannot be sure what is behind the end plates but there is barely a scratch on the thing. I could not stop myself taking a punt :ROFLMAO:... only problem is its a RHW I always wind with my left... going to have to educate myself. If this reel is good I can stretch my budget on the rod a bit because I was thinking about 80-100€ for fixed spool a reel.

edit
Just returning to look for that rod now... hope can keep my head and eyes on what I am looking for:LOL:s-l500.jpg
