Hi gents Lets get the data sorted and Ill enlighten you how the fishing went
Data
Wednesday 22/1/2025
Fishing time- . 8.30am to 13.30 pm
Tide.- high water 12.20 pm 11.0 meters
Wind- Northeast 3 mph swing around North West 6 mph
Air Pressure.- 1005 mb
Surf conditions - height, 2 ft, with 3/4 ocasionally 5 Tables Stretching out - 100 meters
General conditions.- Clear sky with a few grey cloud's and a bit chilly on the pinkies
Bait- Lug and King rag
Tackle set up- Any fish anywhere four and bait paired with a Penn Fathom
and a Blackrock Foosa with a 7000 fixed spool,
End tackle - 4 oz weights, flappers, with 2/0 hooks on both rods.
I arrived first about 7.30 am and Paul ,AKA bluebird making his appearance around 8 cursing the M4 traffic, we walked out on to the beach as the first light of the day showed itself.
We walked for ten minute's hoping to get away from the surfers, that didnt quite work but they weren't too bad. Rods in by half eight and we settled down for the wait as Paul cooed over the beauty of the place.
First and only fish for me slid up the beach an hour after we arrived not a monster, just around 1/2 lb. We thought with the gentle bite it gave that I was reeling in a flounder so we were suprissed when the little bass broke the surface.
The routine of, reel. bait. and cast, went on uninteruped till high water and out the corner of my I seen Paul jump up as his right hand rod was doing it's up most to jump out of the stand. I coundn't beleive the arch in his rod as he lifted into the fish. Paul proceeded to care fully edge the fish towards shore using the surging tide to gain line whist walking slowly back to the surf as the fish was useing the backwash to try and escape. As the fish hit the skinny water you now and again caught a glimpse of it's tail and my god what a paddle it had. I got behind the fish just in case but let Paul, slide the fish up the beach . Paul dealt with the whole situation like a proper pro, we both were in awe of the fish as Paul carried back to the rods. Paul face had taken on a smile that stretched across his face and was still there as we walked back to the car and I suspect he's sitting in comfy chair in the house still grinning from ear to ear., and who can blame him this is a fish of a lifetime almost doubling his previous best.
The unhooking done it was time for a few photo's before the leviathan of a fish was returned .

Paul light tackle aproach with using a 2 oz plain sinker gave the fish her chance to show what she had in the locker and boy did she ever, I enjoyed just watching the battle play out so how Paul felt I can only guess.
