Had a late finish at work on the Friday but not overly worried as the high tide was near midnight so a steady drive down saw me arrive just before 8pm and instead fishing the lagoon section I opted for an area near the church of the good shepherd, probably 300/400 yds to the east. Rods out by 9pm, one with 2 hook loop rig baited with ragworm/squid and the other a pully dropper with mackerel/squid wrap. First hour and a half was bite less but baits were being stripped. Hour before high and 3 dogs in 3 casts followed by a lull of an hour when I had a little schoolie of 32cm and then the next cast one of 37cm. Tried taking a picture but my phone was having none of it so I slipped it back. I fished 2 down and had 3 more dogs and missed a few what I guess were bream rattles. Had a kip in the van as was fishing the day high on Saturday as well.
This time I headed up to the shoreham Fort car park, once again I've never fished this area but I arrived to find 2 anglers already set up and within an hour or so half dozen more had set up in the vicinity, I was roughly 200/300yds away from the west arm. I had bites from the off with 2 flounder in 2 casts and then a plaice. Once again tried taking a photo but phone was having none of it. I will add that I do wear rubber gloves as I get a nasty reaction to the ragworm but it's never stopped me taking a picture before so i guessed my phone was playing up. I ended up with 12 plaice along with the 2 flounder and ran out of worm so packed up only an hour or so into the ebb. Still a productive session and a few for the table so happy days. As for the taking pics I've now realised that it's due to the fact I've had a screen Protector put on my phone in the last week so the gloves on my hands stopped the camera working. But i did manage a couple of pics of the plaice once lightly battered and on a plate for lunch and dinner the following day.
