Who had/has these iconic reels.

The 6HM's were the mutts nutts when they came out, but then they were replaced with the Millionaire II 37-2B, then the 6000M, but then I think Daiwa must have realised anglers wanted reels without level winds, hence the arrival of the 7HT series of reels, and the rest is history as they say. 🎣

I nearly bought one but went for a 6500 instead , matched it to a Silstar Traverse X Tournement which was a lovely rod .
I still have both . The rod has been much used and abused the screw reel fittings and duplon handle removed and shrink tubed.
The reel I chopped as well .
A friend in Cornwally found an old 6hm in his shed , he gave it me but sadly it had succumbed to years of saltwater ingress and was too far gone to rebuild 🙁.

I still use the Silstar and 6500 occasionally . Always brings a smile to my face .

Got 2-3 in the garage, and a few 6rm’s with the shit gearing
Also
Hidden away somewhere is a box with 3 mag force multis in
2 in mint condition, and 1 in the box unused fuck knows where I’ve put the big box, either in the loft or at me mothers house in the loft somewhere
Along with 5-6 complex n zzipie rods that are deffo in her loft !

I still use my 6 HM every time I fish Chesil, it's now nearly 40 years old. I remember having a big backlash and brutally taking the level wind off on the beach and never looked back.
Very slow retrieve which is magical for the first time your eyes lock onto those flattie eyes coming through the last little wave!I

Lovely reel
