I use them on occasions, particularly when they're obsessed with small baitfish. I like flyfishing for them too if I can find them in range - no ironmongery and a great fight on single handers👌
That's all we seem to get nowadays around here small bait fish especially them 3 inch sandeels couple of years ago we did get a massive amount of herring sprat couldn't get a lure through the water without foul hooking them 5...6 inch things fishing was crap until they disappeared with the first bit of weather

Hi please can you let me know how you rig these if fishing them as a teaser with a lure. Do you tie them to the leader or otherwise?

I use a 4 turn water knot of slightly lighter line (just as you might use on a team of flies) to create a 'dropper'. That way if the fly will break off if snagged, leaving the main lure still attached on the 'point'. Others use a connection like a swivel/clip to tie on a short dropper for the teaser fly. The water knot is less bulky, has no real weight and is more subtle imo.

I've tried a few ways as in video above but found trying to tie leader to a short shank hook a pain or as Topwater says of a short dropper but nowadays l just add a extra clip into leader and add fly as and when required
Try them out you'll be surprised how many fish take the teaser
