I was just wondering if anybody could point me in the direction of any large tackle shops in Kent ? Angling direct look pretty big on google but hard to tell how much stock is for sea and how much is freshwater

Where abouts in Kent are you? Angling direct has some sea gear but not much unfortunately. I live in Kent but get most of my gear from Hastings Angling Centre, Anglers Den in Pevensey Bay or Tony's Tackle in Eastbourne.

I’m near Dover so quite a while away from me

Yeah it’s not bad at all I was just seeing if there was anywhere massive, the sort of place I could spend hours looking around 😂
I've spent quite a while searching for similar in and around Kent myself but sadly super sized sea angling stores don't seem to exist, atleast not in Kent 🥺

Although probably a good thing really, my wallet is empty enough already when it's hard to find what I want let alone with everything under one roof 🤣

As you know I have my own Tackle Store... ;) ;)🤣

Ian.

Was shocked not that long ago when visited a tackle shop I used to frequent only to find a bare minimum of everything compared to a few years before and caters for both sea and fresh water and with great location and parking.
Friend who used to work there said only just keeping going and if not for internet sales would be done for and employs two full time staff plus Saturday “ lad”.🤪
Other sad thing been they would suffer badly in the past from local shop lifters/ thugs when the likes of braid etc was accessible as staff knew to look the other way when certain folks came into shop or life would not be good.
Told me of some who would try a jacket or boots on then just walk out but those times now gone but only due to paying more unpleasant folks to spread the word so to speak.🤷🏽‍♂️

On topic, Maidstone angling used to be my go to for sea angling tackle.

Tinternet killed the local tackle shop unless having other income or eccentric millionaire slumming it.🙁

There was a compact but excellent angling shop in Deal on the corner opposite the pier, but 15 years since I fished up that way.
there were a couple in Ramsgate when I was based at RAF Manston.
