Fishing time- . 13.30 pm to 17.45 pm
Tide.- 17.30 pm 10.88 meters
Wind- South East 15 > 6 mph
Air Pressure.- 1030 mb
Surf conditions - 3-5 ft 10 breakers stretching 250 meters > 2-4 ft 5 breackers stretching 100 meters
General conditions.- bright and sunny
Bait- Lug, and small king rag
Tackle set up- Century Tip tornado super match LD paired with a Penn Mag 3
and a Century T800 with a Penn Fathom ,
End tackle - 4 oz weights, one up one down 1/0 hooks and the other size 2
Its was pretty warm trudging through the dunes, but on comming out on the beach you were hit in the face with a chilly wind stronger than was forecast, fortunately this dropped off through the afternoon. The surf was stretching out a fair way and the waves at the back end were pretty big. This also changed as the afternoon passed by less breakers and closing together probably more to do with the extra depth rather than the dropping wind.
Rods in at 13.30 a little later than planned but the best laid plans sometimes go a miss when your married but I wont dwell on that. My companion for the day Barry started the day well enough with a small schoolie 3/4 lb on the first cast. My rods tips didn't move, the ritual cast, reel in, rebait, continued uneventfully for 2 and 1/4 hours when the gentlest twitch on the rod anounced the presence of a flounder, which turned out to be good specimen guessing around 1 1/4 lb
Only five minutes later and Barry crying out, attracting my attention to a fine bend in his rod, I strolled over to offer any help but he was already in the margins picking up a good specimen bass, that later weighed 5 lbs. Straight after Barry landed a another flounder we guest at about a pound. Our favorite time for fish on this beach came and went with me landing just another flounder, luckly lightly hooked around 1/2 lb. I'm not a fan of bright days but there's always the one that proves the theory wrong, but fortunately for me this wasn't it. Barry was pleased with his day so it wasn't all bad.
Tight line gents and ladies, I'm looking forward to a better day next time out.
